Description

The recipe won't take much time. This fish dish will be enjoyed by both children and adults. You can prepare any fish you like using this recipe—it always turns out incredibly delicious, even if you choose a more budget-friendly option. Today I'm using sea bass, which has the advantage of not only excellent taste and low calories but also the absence of many small bones. You can serve the fish with a side dish or without, simply accompanied by fresh, crispy bread, perfect for dipping into the flavorful, creamy sour cream sauce with a velvety texture. This recipe is quick and easy. Be sure to save it for later. Serve hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients from the list. If necessary, defrost the fish in advance on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. You can use sour cream of any fat content; I used 15%. Use spices to your taste; I used a ready-made fish seasoning mix.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

First, prepare the fish. Clean it, remove the innards, head, tail, and fins. Rinse and cut into steaks about 2 cm thick. The weight of the fish I indicated is already in this prepared form.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Season the fish with salt, pepper, and rub with spices.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Set aside for now and let it marinate.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add the chopped onion and carrot. You can cut them any way you prefer; we like them coarser.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Sauté the vegetables until soft, season with salt to taste. Transfer to a plate for now.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Roll the pieces of fish in flour; I used a couple of tablespoons.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

Heat 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the breaded fish in the pan and fry over high heat on both sides until golden brown.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

    Add the vegetables.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

Mix the sour cream with 1 tbsp of flour. Slowly pour in boiling water in a thin stream—this will help prevent the sour cream from curdling during cooking. Season the sauce to taste with salt, add ground pepper if desired, and pour it over the fish and vegetables.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

Cover the pan with a lid and, after boiling, cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

The fish stewed in sour cream sauce is ready. Sprinkle with any fresh herbs and serve.
