Braised cabbage with chicken
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Use regular white cabbage for cooking. You can use any part of chicken; this time I'm using chicken thighs, with the skin removed beforehand. Fresh tomatoes are indicated in the recipe, but they can be substituted with canned tomatoes or tomato paste. Serve the dish hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Peel the onion and chop it finely. Wash the cabbage and shred it. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.

Step 2
Place a kazan or a thick-bottomed pot over heat, pour in a little olive oil and heat. Add the onion and salt, sauté until soft, then add cumin.

Step 3
Place the cabbage on top of the onion, add salt, and mix. Cook covered for about 20 minutes.

Step 4
After twenty minutes, add the chopped tomatoes to the pot and mix, then add the bay leaf, chopped parsley, and pepper (ground and whole).

Step 5
Pour in the water and apple cider vinegar, add the chicken meat. Simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes with the lid on.

Step 6
Add salt and ground black pepper to taste, and gently mix.

Step 7
Serve the dish with thinly sliced chili pepper and dill sprigs.
