Braised cabbage with potatoes and meat
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. The recipe for stewed cabbage with potatoes and meat is probably the simplest and most commonly used in our everyday cooking. At least, I cook this dish quite often. And why not, since potatoes, meat, and cabbage are always available in every home, both in winter and summer. So why not combine them into one delicious and filling dish? For those who haven't tried it yet, or simply forgot the details of preparation, I'll explain how to make stewed cabbage with potatoes and meat. The finished dish can now be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Cut the meat into small cubes and place it in a cauldron, add a small amount of water and simmer. Each type of meat requires different cooking time: beef should simmer for 1-1.5 hours, pork for about an hour, and chicken will be ready even faster. When the meat is cooked, add oil to the cauldron and fry the meat on all sides.

Step 2

Slice the onion into half-rings, and grate the carrot on a coarse grater or cut into thin strips. Add them to the pot with the meat and sauté together for a few minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Slice the potatoes as you like, but I don't recommend cutting them too large, and add them to the cauldron as well. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Fresh cabbage should be shredded and added to the pot with the meat and vegetables, then simmered for another 5 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Now add the sauerkraut. Transfer it to the cauldron as well, mix everything together, and cook for 10 minutes, until the potatoes and cabbage are done.

Step 6

Then we cut the bell pepper and tomato into arbitrary pieces and add them to the pot as well. Simmer for 5-7 minutes. At the end of cooking, we salt and season our dish, and now it's ready to be served.
