
Polish-style stewed cabbage
Description
A traditional dish for many Slavic peoples is stewed cabbage. Poles also love to prepare it this way. To make Polish-style stewed cabbage, we will need pork ribs, fresh white cabbage, and sauerkraut. See the recipe below.

Prepare the ingredients.

In a saucepan, sear the ribs until golden brown.

Peel the onion, slice it into strips, and add it after the meat has browned.

Then grate the peeled carrot on a coarse grater, add salt and pepper. Fry uncovered for another 5 minutes until the carrot becomes soft.

Place the sauerkraut in a saucepan, mix, cover with a lid, reduce the heat, and simmer the sauerkraut with meat for 15 minutes.

Add fresh shredded cabbage to a saucepan, cover with a lid, and simmer for about an hour.

Then add prunes, mix and simmer for another 15 minutes. The ready Polish-style stewed cabbage can be served immediately.
