Cod stewed in sour cream

Description

The recipe won't take much time. This dish goes well with grain-based side dishes and vegetable salads. The main thing is that this fish is very easy and quick to prepare. You can also braise it in milk or cream. But if you just want crispy, juicy fish, don't braise it :) Serve hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

If you are using frozen cod, you need to thaw it first. Then clean the fish, removing the innards, membranes, and fins, and cut it into portion-sized pieces. You can choose the thickness you prefer. I usually cut mine into 3-4 centimeter thick pieces.

Now make the breading mixture for the fish by combining flour with salt and pepper. Add your favorite spices if desired, mix well, then coat the cod pieces in the mixture.

    Step 3

Heat the pan well with vegetable oil, place the fish in it, reduce the heat slightly, and fry the pieces on each side until a golden crust forms.

After frying all the pieces of cod, return them to the pan and add sour cream. Use as much sour cream as you prefer. If you use more sour cream, it will create a tasty sauce-like consistency. Simmer the cod for 10-20 minutes, depending on the thickness and amount of fish. The dish is ready when the flesh easily separates from the bone and there are no pink or red streaks left.
