Cod under sauce in the oven
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Cod itself is not very high in calories, but it's a nutritious fish. If you'd like, you can sprinkle the dish with grated cheese, but in my opinion, it's delicious as it is. To prepare baked cod in sauce, we'll need fish fillets, low-fat sour cream, and mayonnaise. Be sure to add basil, oregano, or simply a ready-made herb mix. You can also add either bell pepper or yellow tomatoes—this will make the dish even juicier. The ready dish can now be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Clean the fish and cut it into pieces. Pour lemon juice over it, add spices. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
- 2
Step 2

Make the sauce: mix sour cream with mayonnaise, add spices, Provence herbs, and salt to taste.
- 3
Step 3

The fish has marinated, now pour cream over it.
- 4
Step 4

Slice the onion into rings and place on top.
- 5
Step 5

Next—tomatoes.
- 6
Step 6

Pour over sour cream sauce.
- 7
Step 7

Place in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for 30 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

At the last moment, I still added a few quarters of yellow tomatoes: they are a bit more sour than red ones and perfectly complemented the fish. You can divide the baked cod with sauce into portions and serve it hot straight from the oven.
