Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Add the yeast to warm milk and stir.
- 3
Step 3

Then add eggs, salt, sugar, and melted butter.
- 4
Step 4

Mix everything well and add half of the flour.
- 5
Step 5

Mix everything until smooth and add candied fruit or any other filling you like.
- 6
Step 6

Mix and add the remaining flour in portions. You may need slightly more flour than given in the recipe, but try not to overload the dough with flour. The finished dough should be soft and slightly sticky to your hands.
- 7
Step 7

Gather the finished dough into a ball, brush with vegetable oil, cover with a towel or plastic wrap, and put it in a warm place to rise for 2 hours.
- 8
Step 8

The dough should increase to approximately 1.5 times its size.
- 9
Step 9

The risen dough needs to be punched down by hand. Then divide it into portions and transfer them to the molds, filling them about halfway. Cover the molds with a clean towel and let stand in a warm place for another hour.
- 10
Step 10

Bake kulich in an oven well preheated to 180°C for about 30–40 minutes. The exact time depends on the size of your molds and how your oven behaves. Check doneness with a wooden skewer—it should come out dry.
- 11
Step 11

Cover the finished kulich with any frosting you like. I used whipped egg whites with sugar. Sprinkle confectioner’s sprinkles onto the frosting you’ve just applied.
- 12
Step 12

The traditional Easter kulich is ready. Happy Easter!
