Cake
Description
Delicious baking for the whole family. You probably won't find a peach-shaped pastry on a traditional Chinese New Year table. But we don't celebrate the New Year in February, nor do we follow Chinese traditions strictly—we treat the year's symbol as a fun theme. That's why this little cake fits perfectly on our festive table. See details below.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients for the sponge cake. Sift the flour. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- 2
Step 2

Beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla with a mixer for 5–7 minutes until light and fluffy. Add sifted flour in 2–3 portions, gently folding it in with a silicone spatula. Line a rectangular baking pan with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan and bake in a preheated oven for 45–50 minutes. Adjust the time according to your oven.

Step 3

Cool slightly in the pan, then completely on a wire rack.
- 4
Step 4

Trim the sponge cake and shape it like a bone. Cut it in half lengthwise into 2 layers.
- 5
Step 5

For the cream, we will need butter at room temperature and condensed milk. Beat the butter with a mixer until creamy, add the condensed milk, and beat again.
- 6
Step 6

Spread the cream on the first layer, then place the second layer on top. Spread the cream over the sides and top of the cake.

Step 7

Decorate with chocolate chips and sprinkles if desired. Refrigerate the cake until serving. Happy New Year!
