Every mom wants to make her child's birthday unforgettable, and this simple "Castle" cake recipe will help us achieve that. Making such a cake at home isn't that difficult—you just need a bit of imagination and ingenuity. In return, you'll receive joyful smiles from the kids and astonished looks from the adults. From my own experience, I can say that such unique cakes always make an unforgettable impression and become the centerpiece of the entire table. And this wonderful cake will delight you not only with its appearance but also with its amazing taste. So if you don't mind spending a little time preparing a celebration for your child, let me tell you how to make a "Castle" cake at home. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, we prepare the dough by mixing together sour cream, sugar, margarine, flour, and baking powder. As you may have already realized, the cake base is the same dough used for "ant hill" cake, only we'll need three times as much. Place the dough in the refrigerator for half an hour, then pass it through a meat grinder. Spread it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10–15 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the cream: soften the butter and beat it with a mixer for 10–15 minutes. Gradually add condensed milk and continue beating until smooth. It's important that the butter and condensed milk are at the same temperature for the best-tasting cream. Once the baked dough layers have cooled, break them into small pieces and mix with the prepared cream.

We need to divide this mixture into two equal parts. From one part, we'll make the base platform for the castle—any baking pan can be used for this. Spread the mixture evenly into the pan, press it down firmly, and place it in the refrigerator. From the second part, we'll make the walls and towers; I used children's sandcastle molds for this.

    Step 3

    Step 3

Line the mold with a plastic bag and place the mixture of dough and cream into it, pressing it down firmly.

Now carefully remove the prepared part from the mold.

    Step 5

    Step 5

These were walls, and now we do the same thing with towers, only using any hollow flask for this purpose.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

All prepared parts of our castle and its foundation are placed in the refrigerator overnight.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

In the morning, you can start assembling our castle, and to help the pieces stay in place, you can skewer them with toothpicks. Use waffle cones for the roof.

Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and use it to decorate the castle walls. You can also use marshmallows and candied fruits for decoration. And here our castle is ready!
