Animal-shaped cake
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Actually, making a cake in the shape of an animal is pure creativity. If you enjoyed playing with clay as a child, this process will captivate you just as much as it did me! So I highly recommend you start right away. And if you have a young child, be sure to invite them to create together with you—it's a lot of fun. Serve with tea or coffee.

1. Prepare the cake base as you like — I baked a carrot sponge cake with dried apricots. Pour the brandy into the center and spread it out — let it absorb evenly.

2. Next, let's move on to the marzipan. First, cover our biscuit with the larger portion of marzipan and set it aside to cool. Then, start creating with the leftovers. Shape one ball, one oval, and three small beads—we'll begin forming the dog's face.

3. Using a toothpick or any other convenient tool, draw the face details and carefully shape the eyebrows. Place the head in the refrigerator.

4. We make the body from a rectangular piece, and the legs and arms from long strips rolled between the fingers. Put the body in the refrigerator as well.

5. Prepare food coloring according to the package instructions. I created a whole palette by mixing beige and brown colors to achieve different fur shades for the two dogs. Color them and leave to set. I made one of the dogs "fluffy"—after coloring, while the marzipan was still slightly damp, I used a stick to draw "waves" on its surface.

6. And here's the beauty I ended up with! I made the second dog following exactly the same principle, only instead of drawing with a stick, I applied tiny marzipan strips onto the face and body. And if you use your imagination, you can create your own unique animal!
