Cake
Description
The baking is simple and quick. The recipe for the cake "Stirlich" will surprise you with one unexpected ingredient. If desired, it can be replaced with a more familiar one—sour cream; however, it is precisely the mayonnaise that makes this cake incredibly soft and moist. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. First, it is quite standard to beat the eggs with sugar.
- 2
Step 2

2. Add condensed milk and mix thoroughly. The "Stirlitz" cake made at home turns out quite sweet, so you can adjust the amount of sugar to taste.
- 3
Step 3

3. Now you can add the secret ingredient—mayonnaise. If desired, it can be replaced with sour cream.
- 4
Step 4

4. Gradually add the sifted flour in several stages, continuing to whisk.
- 5
Step 5

5. Now divide all the dough into two parts. Add cocoa (or melted chocolate) to one part. If desired, you can make it lemon-flavored instead of chocolate.
- 6
Step 6

6. Bake the cake layers one at a time in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes each.
- 7
Step 7

7. The recipe for the "Stirlitz" cake moves on to the next stage - the cream. For this, beat butter (or good margarine) with condensed milk.
- 8
Step 8

8. Chop the nuts (peanuts in this version, but you can use any nuts to taste). Add part of them to the cream.
- 9
Step 9

9. Generously spread the cooled cake layers with cream.
- 10
Step 10

10. Spread the remaining cream on the sides of the cake and coat the entire surface with nuts. Let it sit for a couple of hours (ideally overnight) to allow it to soak well.
