
Chocolate-caramel cake
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. The chocolate-caramel cake can become a real centerpiece of your festive table, thanks to the chocolate shavings and the caramel sauce used as a filling. You can also create caramel decorations to give the cake a more festive look, or decorate it with nuts and poppy seeds. This cake turns out incredibly tender, thanks to the sponge layers and creamy filling, which will surely delight everyone. The caramel sauce for this cake can be store-bought or homemade. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

1. Sift the flour and mix it with sugar, vanilla sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Add milk, eggs, melted butter, olive oil, and vinegar. Beat for 2–3 minutes until smooth.

2. Line the bottom of the baking pan with parchment paper and pour the batter onto it, rotating the pan several times. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

3. Let the cakes cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack for four hours. Melt the chocolate over a double boiler, spread it in a thin layer on parchment paper, roll it into a log, and refrigerate until completely set.

4. Level the tops of the cake layers. Beat the soft butter for five minutes. Gradually add the room-temperature caramel sauce, one spoon at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.

5. Transfer part of the cream into a piping bag and pipe a ring of cream along the edge of the first cake layer. Spread the caramel sauce inside the ring and cover with the second cake layer. Spread cream over the top and sides of the cake.

6. Decorate the cake with chocolate shavings and refrigerate for 2 hours.
