
Classic cake recipe
Description
The pastry is easy and quick to prepare. If you really like its taste, but don't know how to serve it, serve it warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

1. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the whites until stiff peaks form.

2. Beat the yolks with half of the sugar. Add the second half to the egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form.

3. Carefully combine both mixtures so that they do not lose their fluffiness.

4. Sift the flour together with the cocoa and add to the eggs.

5. Melt the butter, then cool it. Add to the dough, mixing gently.

6. Pour the batter into a mold and place in the preheated oven. Bake for about half an hour until done.

7. The cooled cake base should be placed on a rack and allowed to cool for at least 6 hours. A quicker method for making "Prague" cake is not provided by the classic recipe.

8. Add 1 egg yolk and about 20 milliliters of water. Beat lightly, then add condensed milk. Simmer over a water bath until thickened. Meanwhile, melt butter with a pinch of vanillin. Sift cocoa powder and add it to the cream. Beat everything until smooth and uniform.

9. Cut the well-cooled cake into 3 layers. Spread the first two layers with the cooled cream.

10. And top with apricot jam or preserves. Apricot is most commonly used, but you can vary the "Prague" cake recipe at home by using any other jam to suit your taste.

11. All that's left is to melt the chocolate with the butter and thoroughly coat the cake with the glaze on all sides. Chill thoroughly until the glaze has completely set.
