Cake
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. I suggest you try this great version in your own kitchen. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. The specified amount of ingredients for the dough will yield two cake layers (which will later be cut in half). To prepare one cake layer, beat 4 eggs with half of the sugar, a pinch of salt, and one tablespoon of baking powder.
- 2
Step 2

2. Gradually add the sifted flour.
- 3
Step 3

3. Pour the batter into a greased pan and place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. In the same way, prepare the batter for the second layer afterward.
- 4
Step 4

4. While the cake layers are baking, prepare the syrup. Dissolve sugar in water. You can add a couple of tablespoons of your favorite alcohol. Let the baked layers cool completely, then cut each in half. Soak each layer thoroughly with the syrup.
- 5
Step 5

5. Wash the raspberries, dry them, and mash into a puree, adding powdered sugar to taste. You can also strain through a sieve.
- 6
Step 6

6. Add some of the berries whole. Whip the cream with powdered sugar. Spread the syrup-soaked cake layers with berry and cream filling. Assemble the cake.
- 7
Step 7

7. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, add a couple of tablespoons of cream. Glaze the finished cake with it. You can decorate the cake with marzipan. Roll out a strip neatly.
- 8
Step 8

8. When the glaze has set well, carefully wrap the sides of the cake with marzipan.
- 9
Step 9

9. Put the remaining buttercream into a piping bag and decorate the cake.

Step 10

10. The "Othello" cake is ready at home. Besides cream, you can decorate it with fresh berries. Let it sit before serving so it can soak thoroughly.
