Cake
Description
Making the "Narcissus" cake at home is very easy: simple biscuit layers and light cream. This cake pairs wonderfully with tea and other beverages, and will be a hit at any celebration. The cake is very light and not overly sweet. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.

Step 1

1. Start making the cake by baking biscuit layers. For this, beat the egg whites separately with sugar, and the yolks separately. The mixture should increase in volume about fivefold. After that, combine and gently mix, then bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes.

2. Let it cool slightly, then remove from the pan. After that, cut the sponge cake into 2-3 layers, depending on the height of your cake.

Step 3

3. Now thoroughly whip the cream with sugar. Whip until the sugar granules dissolve.

Step 4

4. Add the soft cottage cheese and beat everything again thoroughly. Now, start spreading the cream over the cake layers. Also, make sure to cover the edges well with the cream.

5. If desired, you can soak one of the cake layers with liqueur and syrup: mix the liqueur with water and sugar. Sprinkle the top with leftover cake crumbs (I usually grind the cake trimmings and use them to coat the top and sides of the cake).
