Instructions
- 1
Step 1

For the cake, you will need puff pastry. It should be thawed in advance. You can make the dough yourself, but that is quite a long and labor-intensive process.
- 2
Step 2

The classic recipe includes custard cream. To prepare it, take a pack of butter and put it in a saucepan. Leave the butter at room temperature to soften.
- 3
Step 3

In a separate saucepan or skillet, crack a raw chicken egg. Add sugar and rub both ingredients together until white. Add vanillin.
- 4
Step 4

Pour milk into the egg mixture and mix thoroughly. Place the saucepan on the stove over the lowest heat. Heat the custard well until it thickens, but do not bring to a boil. Cool the contents of the saucepan.
- 5
Step 5

Divide the puff pastry into six equal pieces. Roll them out into a round shape. Place the rolled-out piece of dough onto a frying pan. Bake the layer for about fifteen minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Repeat the procedure with the remaining pieces of dough. Shape the layers evenly, and do not discard the trimmings—they will be needed for decoration.
- 7
Step 7

Whisk the vegetable oil until fluffy. Add the custard cream to it. Mix thoroughly.
- 8
Step 8

Place a cake layer on a plate. Spread it with cream. Top it with another cake layer. Repeat the process until all the layers are used up.
- 9
Step 9

Then spread the remaining cream on the sides of the cake. Sprinkle it with cake crumbs and refrigerate for 24 hours to let it soak.
