Cake from ready-made puff pastry
Description
For this recipe, we'll need any store-bought puff pastry. We'll prepare a classic milk-based custard cream for the Napoleon cake. The traditional version is made without any additions, but you can experiment a bit—add berries such as raspberries or blueberries between the layers, or chopped nuts. For a more thoroughly soaked cake, it's best to leave it in the refrigerator overnight. Serve the cake warm or chilled, ideally with tea or coffee, alongside any beverage.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients from the list. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the puff pastry into 6-8 pieces, transfer them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until the pastry rises and turns golden brown. Adjust the timing according to your oven—it may take slightly less or more time.

Step 3

Meanwhile, while the cake layers are baking, prepare the cream. Break two chicken eggs into a saucepan or sauté pan, then immediately add sugar and vanilla sugar.
- 4
Step 4

Mix everything with a whisk, then add the wheat flour. Mix again with a whisk, pour in half of the milk, stir well and place over heat. When the mixture warms up, add the remaining milk and continuously stir the cream with a whisk.

Step 5

After 3-4 minutes of cooking, the cream will begin to thicken. The most important thing is to constantly stir the cream vigorously with a whisk. You must not leave the cream unattended even for a minute, otherwise it will burn and you'll have to throw it away. Be sure to keep this in mind.
- 6
Step 6

Cook the cream for 3-4 minutes; when it thickens, remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Then add soft butter to the cream.
- 7
Step 7

Mix everything well, cover with plastic wrap in contact. Let the cream cool.
- 8
Step 8

Also, let the prepared puff pastry cool.
- 9
Step 9

Then take any springform pan, place a little cream on the bottom. Break part of the puff pastry into pieces and place it on top of the cream.
- 10
Step 10

Place the cream on top of the dough again. Assemble the cake in this way.
- 11
Step 11

Sprinkle the top of the cake with the remaining crumbs. Then refrigerate the cake overnight.
- 12
Step 12

Remove the mold. The cake is ready to serve. This is incredibly delicious!
- 13
Step 13

The baked goods are ready. Serve with tea.
