Quick-fix cake
Description
A beautiful eight-layer cake with buttercream in less than an hour... Can you believe this is possible if you bake the layers and make the cream yourself? With this recipe, you'll believe it's entirely achievable. Follow the step-by-step instructions, and you'll succeed. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions

Step 1

Mix the egg with sugar (3/4 cup) and whisk everything with a whisk. This is the base for the cream.
- 2
Step 2

Add a heaping tablespoon of flour and sauté the mixture in a saucepan, stirring constantly, until it slightly darkens.
- 3
Step 3

Pour the milk into the same mixture and cook the cream until thickened. This results in a kind of sweet béchamel.

Step 4

Mix a quarter cup of sugar with the egg, cottage cheese, chopped butter, flour, and neutralized baking soda with vinegar. Add the flour gradually, kneading until you get an elastic dough that can be rolled out. Divide the dough into 8 parts, roll each part out, and fry on a skillet on both sides until golden brown.

Step 5

Place the cooled cake layers on top of each other and trim them to achieve a neat shape. Crumble the trimmings into fine crumbs. Spread the layers with cream, then sprinkle the crumbs over the top layer on top of the cream.

Step 6

The cake doesn't need to be soaked for long—just 30 minutes is enough, since the layers made with butter and cottage cheese won't be dry. Try this cake served with tea.
