Birthday cake for a boy
Description
The baking is simple and quick. Preparing a birthday cake for a boy will take a lot of time, about two days, to make all the details. First, prepare the fondant—it's very important. Melt 330 g of white chocolate over a water bath. Microwave 300 g of marshmallows for half a minute, then add the softened marshmallows to the chocolate. Mix quickly, add 2 tbsp of soft butter and 6 tbsp of heavy cream. Stir thoroughly all the time. Now add powdered sugar and continue mixing until the fondant no longer sticks to your hands. It's best to add food coloring to the un-kneaded fondant so that the color spreads evenly. The dessert is ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

So, I ended up with three colors: blue, orange, and white.
- 2
Step 2

Let's start with the wheels. Roll out the white fondant and cut out small circles. Now, use a straw to make indentations around the edges of each circle.
- 3
Step 3

For the wheel base, take a round cookie (you can also use marshmallow or meringue). Roll out dark green fondant and cut out circles large enough to wrap the cookie completely.
- 4
Step 4

Lift the edges, smooth them out.
- 5
Step 5

Trim off the excess, seal the cuts with water, and you'll get these blanks.
- 6
Step 6

Using water and a brush, glue the "disks" onto the wheels.
- 7
Step 7

We make rims and paint the wheels. Wheels are ready!
- 8
Step 8

Now let's work on the bow. Roll out a sheet from the orange fondant and cut it into identical strips. The more strips you have, the fuller the bow will be.
- 9
Step 9

We make the base from orange marzipan. And then start attaching the strips to this base.
- 10
Step 10

To create volume, place paper towels underneath and remove them after the item is completely dry.
- 11
Step 11

This is the beautiful bow you get.
- 12
Step 12

From the same orange-colored marzipan, cut out strips and roll them onto sticks, for example, Chinese chopsticks. Wait for them to dry as well.
- 13
Step 13

Also, cut out details for the car from different types of fondant.
- 14
Step 14

Then we proceed directly to the cake. Prepare the dough: mix all dry ingredients—3 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, 1.5 tsp of baking soda (unslaked), 15 g of baking powder, and 6 tbsp of cocoa.
- 15
Step 15

Beat 2 eggs, then add 0.5 cup of vegetable oil and beat again. Gradually start adding 1 cup of milk, alternating with the dry mixture. Beat well each time. The result should be a fairly thick batter. Finally, add 1 cup of boiling water and beat once more until you get a smooth, uniform chocolate mixture.
- 16
Step 16

Bake two cake layers for about 40 minutes at 180 degrees—check for doneness with a toothpick. Then cut them in half and soak with sugar syrup.
- 17
Step 17

While the cake layers are soaking, prepare the cream. Pour 250 ml of milk into a saucepan, add 2.5 tablespoons of flour, and mix thoroughly (preferably with a whisk) to avoid lumps. Add 100 g of sugar and place over heat.
- 18
Step 18

Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Remove from heat and immediately add the chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted, then let it cool completely. While the chocolate is cooling, beat 200 g of butter with vanilla sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the chocolate mixture to the butter and beat until smooth and uniform. The resulting cream is very light and delicious.
- 19
Step 19

Spread the cake layers with cream, cover the top and sides with cream, and leave the cake in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Once the cream has set, we begin shaping the car's frame. Trim the sides of the cake.
- 20
Step 20

And place them on top. This will be our cabin. In a similar way, shape the entire car.
- 21
Step 21

Make indentations with a cookie scoop, cut out the body.
- 22
Step 22

While preparing the ganache, put the cake back in the oven. For the ganache: melt 150 g of dark chocolate in 150 ml of heavy cream over low heat. Once the ganache has cooled, brush it over the cake using a pastry brush.
- 23
Step 23

And we send it to the refrigerator for at least an hour. After this time has passed, roll out a large sheet of blue fondant and transfer it onto the car using a rolling pin. If the fondant appears dull, color it with food coloring dissolved in vodka using a sponge. Don't worry—the vodka will evaporate.
- 24
Step 24

Here's the car we got. Let it dry.
- 25
Step 25

And once the car itself has dried, we attach the bow and ribbons. The birthday cake for a boy is ready.
