Eggless Cake
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. "Medovik" cake is one of the most popular homemade cakes, and every homemaker has her own trusted and beloved recipe for making it. Today, I'd like to share one of these recipes with you. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

In a small container, mix sour cream, sugar, honey, and soft butter with a mixer.
- 2
Step 2

Then add the sifted flour and baking soda.
- 3
Step 3

Knead the dough, shape it into a ball, and refrigerate for about 20-30 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Then divide the dough into 8-10 pieces and roll each piece into a thin round. Roll carefully, dusting with flour. You can shape neat, round discs now by using a 25-26 cm diameter plate—trim the dough along the edge of the plate.

Step 5

Prick the cake layer with a fork and place it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 5–8 minutes. Bake all the layers this way. After baking, each cake layer will need slight trimming—use a 23 cm diameter plate to cut the edges with a sharp knife. Save these trimmings for decorating the cake.
- 6
Step 6

We'll prepare the cake cream — beat sour cream with sugar using a mixer until the sugar granules dissolve.
- 7
Step 7

Assemble the cake, spreading each layer with sour cream frosting. Don't forget to frost the sides of the cake.
- 8
Step 8

Then, crush the cake trimmings into crumbs. Use these crumbs to coat the top and sides of the "Medovik." Place the cake in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to let it soak.
