Description

The recipe won't take much time. Receiving gifts is always pleasant, especially when they are handmade. And since ordinary baked goods won't impress anyone these days, I suggest you try this interesting alternative—the recipe for a "Kinder Surprise" cake. As you've probably guessed, it's shaped like the beloved candy with a toy inside, only our cake is much tastier and bigger. Since we're making it for a celebration, it definitely shouldn't be without a gift—feel free to place something fun right in the center of the cake. And I'll be honest—this cake will delight not only children, but adults too. It's unusual and incredibly original. And if you're afraid it won't turn out, let me assure you: with a little effort and by carefully following this photo-illustrated "Kinder Surprise" cake recipe, you'll definitely succeed. Serve with tea or coffee.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

For this cake, I used sponge cake batter. So, rub together 300 grams of softened butter and 300 grams of sugar. Break the eggs and carefully separate the whites from the yolks. Add the yolks to the butter mixture and beat well. Then add sour cream and beat the mixture again. In a separate bowl, combine the egg whites with a pinch of salt and beat until thick foam forms. Add 1/3 of the egg whites to the bowl with the whipped butter and sour cream, and mix. Now add baking powder and gradually incorporate the flour in 3-4 batches. Finally, add the remaining egg whites and mix everything together. Line the baking pan with parchment paper and pour in the prepared batter. You should get 1-2 cake layers, depending on the pan size. Place the sponge cake batter into a preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 30-40 minutes.

We make an egg-shaped template from cardboard, place it on each cake layer, and trim the excess with a knife.

Now we need to make a cavity for the gift. Place the gift on the cake and carefully cut out a rectangle of the same size. Now prepare the cream: blend the cottage cheese using a blender and beat it thoroughly. Next, mix the cream with 100 grams of sugar, add vanilla sugar, and whip until thick and foamy. Now combine the cream with the cottage cheese mixture and use this cream to spread over the bottom cake layer.

    Step 4

Place the gift in the box and wrap it tightly with several layers of plastic wrap. Put it into the prepared indentation.

To bring the sponge cake level up to the height of the gift, place cake trimmings around the gift and spread cream over them.

If there are many scraps, you can make another layer, then cover this layer with the second biscuit cake.

Now it is necessary to shape the cake into an egg form, removing all excess with a knife.

    Step 8

    Step 8

Mix the cake crumbs with the cream and use this mixture to fill all the cracks and holes. Spread the remaining cream over the entire surface of the cake to make it smooth and even, then place it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.

For the fondant, I use marshmallows. The preparation principle is simple—just figure out how much fondant you need and what color it should be. Place the marshmallows into a bowl, add lemon juice, and microwave for 20–30 seconds. Dilute the food coloring in a small amount of vodka and pour it into the marshmallows. Mix well, then gradually add powdered sugar. Stir first with a spoon, and when it becomes too difficult, transfer the mixture onto a surface dusted with powdered sugar and continue kneading by hand. Wrap the finished fondant in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Then take out the white fondant, roll it out on a surface dusted with starch, use this sheet to cover your cake, and trim off the excess with a knife.

    Step 10

    Step 10

We do the same with the red fondant: cut a wave shape from it, moisten one side with water, and attach it to the white fondant. Repeat the same process with the letters and the remaining details. And that's it, basically.

The finished cake is almost indistinguishable from the eponymous treat.
