Cake
Description
Perfect for tea and coffee. Many people are familiar with this dessert from childhood. It's not difficult to recreate at home, but the process does take quite some time. If you'd like to treat yourself and your loved ones, I recommend trying this idea. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, turn on the oven and preheat to 180 degrees. Carefully separate the yolks from the whites, beat the yolks with sugar and butter until smooth, add the baking powder and sifted flour, then mix in the sour cream.
- 2
Step 2

Separately beat the egg whites and add them to the batter. Gently mix. Prepare a baking sheet, spread a small amount of batter and bake a thin cake layer. You should have 6 layers in total.

Step 3

While the cake layers are baking, you can prepare the cream. Beat the eggs with milk and sugar until smooth, then add starch and flour, and mix. Place over heat and cook the cream until thickened. Remove from heat, add cocoa dissolved in boiling water, mix well, and let cool.

Step 4

Melt the chocolate in hot cream, stir, and let it cool. After about an hour, add softened butter, whip the cream, and mix it with the custard. Use the prepared cream to fill 5 cake layers. Let it sit for 4–6 hours. Only after that, carefully cut into 3 parts.
- 5
Step 5

Each piece needs to be cut diagonally.
- 6
Step 6

Cut the previously set aside cake layer into 3 parts (this will be the base). Arrange the cake pieces in this manner, spreading cream between each piece. This will create 3 "hills".

Step 7

Now leave the cake overnight to let it soak properly. If desired, you can decorate our "Carpathians" with cream or powdered sugar.
