Description

The recipe won't take much time. The "Camouflage" cake recipe is a variation on chocolate baking. If desired, you can make cream-based layers and replace the jam with your favorite cream. You can also create the camouflage pattern using cream with food coloring if you don't have fondant on hand. 1. First, beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. 2. Add eggs one at a time, continuing to beat the mixture. 3. Sift flour and cocoa powder, then gradually add them to the batter. 4. Grind almonds into fine crumbs (or powder) and add them along with the flour. 5. Melt the chocolate bar using a double boiler or microwave. Pour the melted chocolate into the batter and mix thoroughly. 6. Lightly grease a baking pan with butter and pour in the batter. Place in a preheated oven at about 180°C (350°F) and bake for approximately 1 hour. 7. Let the baked cake cool completely (first in the pan, then on a wire rack). 8. Cut the cooled cake horizontally into two layers. Spread jam or soak the bottom layer with syrup. 9. Prepare the fondant and set aside about two-thirds. Tint this portion green (in this version). 10. Roll it out thinly and cover the cake with the fondant. Smooth the surface and trim off excess. 11. Divide the remaining fondant in half and tint each portion with different colors. 12. To create a homemade "Camouflage" cake, take a small piece of colored fondant and, using a wet tool (such as a spatula), spread it over the cake. Alternate colors to create a random, camouflage-like pattern. 13. Optionally, decorate the top of the cake with a thematic detail—such as a pistol, fishing rod, or rifle. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
