Cake with strawberry jam
Description
The recipe won’t take much time. You can make a fragrant cake with strawberry jam by soaking the sponge base with it. You can add any cream you like: sour cream–based, buttercream, chocolate, etc. The main thing is not to forget to serve the cake with drinks. Serve it warm or chilled. Ideal with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients listed.
- 2
Step 2

Crack the chicken eggs into the bowl of a food processor or a deep mixer bowl. Add 130 grams of sugar and salt to the same bowl, and beat on high speed for about 3–5 minutes until light and fluffy, until the mixture has roughly tripled in volume.
- 3
Step 3

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease the tin with butter. Add wheat flour and cocoa powder to the beaten egg mixture. Mix gently.
- 4
Step 4

You should end up with chocolate sponge cake batter.
- 5
Step 5

Pour it into a greased tin and bake for roughly 25–30 minutes until done, testing with a wooden skewer. You can also bake the sponge cake in a multicooker for 50 minutes on the Bake programme.
- 6
Step 6

Place the finished sponge in the tin on its side and let it cool, then remove it from the tin and cut it in half to get two layers. If you like, soak the layers with syrup. Spread strawberry jam on the bottom layer and cover the whole surface with it.
- 7
Step 7

Place the second cake layer on top. Whip sour cream of any fat content with thickener for sour cream or cream and sugar until thick. Transfer to a piping bag and decorate the cake with the cream. Refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the cake to absorb the cream.

Step 8

When serving, decorate the cake with sliced strawberries, and don’t forget the hot drinks.
