Cake
Description
1. The recipe for the "Hockey Rink" cake can be absolutely any. It's best to choose a tried-and-true version that always turns out well. The only requirement is that the cake layers should be baked on a baking sheet so they come out rectangular in shape. 2. The baked and cooled layers should be spread with your favorite cream, trimming them slightly. 3. Once the cake is fully assembled, generously coat it with a crumb mixture (crushed cake crumbs + butter) to prevent the fondant from touching the cream. Place the finished cake in the refrigerator to set slightly. 4. Meanwhile, you can work on the fondant. You'll need mostly white fondant to create the playing field and the cake's borders. To hide seams, place thin fondant ropes along the joints between the sides and the field. 5. Using similar thin ropes, you can shape hockey goals. 6. Even if you don't have advanced pastry skills, making a "Hockey Rink" cake at home is entirely achievable. Add red food coloring to a small amount of fondant, roll it into thin, long strips, and place them onto the field. Repeat the same process using blue food coloring. 7. Roll out a small circle of blue fondant, cut it in half, and place the semicircles near the goals. 8. You may choose to finish here if you prefer. If you feel confident, you can also shape hockey sticks from white fondant, decorating them with small colored stripes. Serve the cake cooled or slightly warm.
