Step 1

1. The recipe for the "Hamburger" cake is mostly an instruction for decoration. Before starting, you need to bake two sponge cake layers using a trusted recipe. Shape them like burger buns by trimming off a bit from the bottom. Beat the butter until smooth and mix it with the cake trimmings. Use this mixture to cover the cake layers (one on top, the other on the bottom), shaping the edges with a rounded finish. You can use any cream you like for this cake. Divide the cream into two parts—add red food coloring to one part and yellow to the other.

2. Roll out the fondant thinly and wrap the cupcakes, folding the edges of the fondant slightly, as shown in the picture.

Step 3

3. Small strips should be made on the edges of the bun. It is quite convenient to do this using a toothpick.

Step 4

4. Cover the top cake layer with thinly rolled marzipan, tucking the excess edges inside.

Step 5

5. Color a small amount of fondant using food coloring and shape the filling elements - lettuce leaves, bacon, tomatoes, etc.

Step 6

6. Tint the top cake layer slightly yellow using food coloring. Cut small pieces from the fondant to imitate sesame seeds.

Step 7

7. Spread the red cream, which will serve as ketchup, on the bottom crust. Then add lettuce leaves and tomatoes.

Step 8

8. Then place the "patty" (chocolate cake layer) on top and generously spread it with the yellow cream. Add decorative elements and cover with the top cake layer. The homemade "Hamburger" cake is ready!
