Description
The recipe won't take much time. So how do you make this wonderful "Despicable Me" cake at home? I should warn you right away—the process isn't quick, but it's definitely interesting and creative. First, prepare the sponge cake batter and bake a large rectangular cake. Once the cake has cooled, cut out a minion shape from it and proceed to decorate. You'll need to mix buttercream with various food colorings: yellow, blue, and black. The buttercream will be used to draw the main elements of the cake. All the small details can easily be recreated using chocolate pieces. Candies of the required sizes and shapes can be easily found at your nearest store. Give it a try!

Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the whites until stiff peaks form. Beat the yolks until foamy, then add 2 tablespoons of hot water. Gradually add sugar and vanilla sugar, continue beating until a light mixture forms, then add lemon juice. Fold in the beaten egg whites using a whisk. Mix flour with baking powder, sift over the mixture, and gently stir in. Line a baking pan with parchment paper, pour in the batter, and bake for 20–25 minutes at 200°C (392°F).

We remove the sponge cake and let it cool.

Now you need to cut the minion's body out of the rectangular cake. Use a sharp knife.

Mix the buttercream with yellow food coloring, blending until a uniform consistency is achieved.

Spread a thin layer over the entire cake base.

We make the surface perfectly smooth and put the cake in the refrigerator for half an hour.
