Cake for the Princess
Description
The baking is simple and quick. For this cake, we'll need a sponge cake. You can buy ready-made cake layers at the store or bake them yourself at home. I decided to put in the effort—and the result delighted me and my loved ones! I'll definitely make this dessert again. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions

Step 1

We start with the sponge cake. Beat eggs with sugar into a white foam. Gradually add flour, potato starch, and baking powder in portions.
- 2
Step 2

Pour the thoroughly beaten mixture into a mold. Bake at 175 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let the cooled cake cool, then cut it into three parts.

Step 3

Now let's move on to the cream. Heat the milk. In a separate container, whisk together the egg and cornstarch. Pour this mixture into the milk, add a pinch of zest, and stir continuously. As soon as it thickens, remove from the heat and let it cool.

Step 4

Soak the first layer with jam. Spread cream on top. Then spread only cream on the remaining layers. Spread the top with butter beaten with powdered sugar.

Step 5

Roll out the fondant, cut a circle from the sheet that is larger in diameter than your cake. Cover the cake with it. Decorate the top with powdered sugar and a rose made from pink or red fondant.
