Cake
Description
Flower in a Pot Cake at home is very beautiful and, most importantly, delicious. If desired, while keeping the same appearance, you can change the filling and make any other cake you like. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Start preparing the "Flower in a Pot" cake by making the cake layers. To prepare the sponge cake, beat egg yolks with half of the sugar separately, and egg whites separately. Add the remaining sugar and condensed milk to the egg whites, then continue beating while gradually adding sour cream. To the yolks, gradually add sifted flour mixed with cocoa in small portions, stirring gently until the batter becomes smooth and uniform. Combine both mixtures and stir gently. Divide the batter into two parts and bake two tall sponge cakes. Let them cool thoroughly first, then slice each one horizontally into two layers.

Step 2

2. While the cake layers are baking, you can prepare a simple cream. Beat softened butter with cocoa, then add condensed milk. If desired, cocoa can be replaced with melted chocolate. Mix the cream with a mixer until smooth.

Step 3

3. Once the cake layers have completely cooled, you can assemble the cake. Generously spread each layer with cream and, if desired, moisten with syrup. Use the remaining cream to coat the sides of the cake (if there are any cake trimmings, blend them with the cream), then refrigerate the cake for a couple of hours.

Step 4

4. The pot can be shaped from either fondant or marzipan. To achieve a more natural color, it's best to mix several food coloring shades—brown, red, yellow, and orange.
- 5
Step 5

5. Roll out the finished fondant into a thin sheet (no more than 5 millimeters thick) and wrap the cake, smoothing the surface.
- 6
Step 6

6. Part of the fondant needs to be colored in different colors and shaped into flowers. Start by cutting out small circles.
- 7
Step 7

7. Then place them into a small container, sticking them together with water. Leave them in this form for at least 4-5 hours so they take the desired shape.
- 8
Step 8

8. You also need to cut out leaves and make small notches on them using a glass or a knife.
- 9
Step 9

9. The "Flower in a Pot" cake can also be covered with cream on top when made at home.
- 10
Step 10

10. To make the pot look more natural, you can cut a small strip from the leftover fondant and attach it on top as a rim. The soil in the pot can be grated chocolate or crushed chocolate cookies.
- 11
Step 11

11. It's best to leave it in this form for 4-5 hours to set. The "Flower in a Pot" cake recipe with photos is almost complete. All that's left is to "plant" the flowers, and then it can be served.
