Meringue cake
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. I'd like to suggest making a chocolate meringue cake at home. If you like the classic version, go ahead and use it. Thanks to the nuts, the cake layers turn out especially interesting: a perfect combination of tenderness and density. This dessert is perfect both for a festive table and for serving with tea to guests.
Instructions

Step 1

1. First, place the nuts on a baking sheet (you can use any nuts you prefer in this meringue cake recipe) and put them in the oven. Dry them for about 12-15 minutes.
- 2
Step 2

2. Next, prepare parchment paper sheets and draw a circle on them to mark the cake layer. The specified amount of ingredients will yield 3 layers. After baking the nuts, reduce the oven temperature to the minimum, approximately 100-110 degrees.
- 3
Step 3

3. If necessary, peel the nuts and chop them with a knife. I like to have noticeable pieces, so I don't recommend using a blender.
- 4
Step 4

4. Carefully separate the egg whites from the yolks (you won't need the yolks). Add a pinch of salt and start beating. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- 5
Step 5

5. Carefully fold in the nuts with a spatula, taking care not to lose the airy texture. Melt the chocolate over a water bath and let it cool.
- 6
Step 6

6. Add the melted chocolate and the drops, and gently mix once again.
- 7
Step 7

7. Carefully use a spoon to spread the mixture along the outline of the drawn circle. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the cake for approximately 2.5 hours.
- 8
Step 8

8. After that, turn off the oven, pull the baking sheet out slightly, and leave the door ajar. Let the cake cool down gradually.
- 9
Step 9

9. As a cream for this simple meringue cake recipe, I suggest using a light option — whipped cream. The amount of sugar depends on your taste preferences.
- 10
Step 10

10. After the cake layers have completely cooled, all that remains is to spread the cream between them.

Step 11

11. This is the amazing meringue cake you'll end up with when making it at home. Decorate with chocolate or nuts, for example, if desired. Refrigerate overnight, then it's ready to enjoy.
