Cake
Description
Homemade baked treat for tea. To make this cake, we'll need to prepare shortcrust pastry layers, whip up a creamy filling, and choose a dark, tangy jam. Decorate the cake with crumbs, cream, and chocolate shavings. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions

Step 1

1. To prepare the dough, beat the egg with a small amount of sugar.
- 2
Step 2

2. Add about 2/3 of our butter to the resulting mixture, then add the flour with baking soda. The dough is very dense, so mix it with a mixer using a special attachment or by hand the old-fashioned way. I immediately divide the dough into four parts and refrigerate for an hour.

Step 3

3. While the dough is cooling, let's make the crumb topping. Rub together 100 grams of butter, a couple of tablespoons of flour, and sugar.
- 4
Step 4

4. Roll the frozen dough into round layers and bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees. Trim each layer into a perfect round shape using a plate and a knife, then brush with jam while still hot.
- 5
Step 5

5. Let the cake layers cool and absorb the jam. Meanwhile, prepare the cream by whipping the cream with sugar. You can also use ready-made cream.
- 6
Step 6

6. The cooled cakes, having absorbed the jam, are spread with buttercream and stacked on top of each other.

Step 7

7. Spread the sides with cream and coat them with the prepared crumbs mixed with crushed cake trimmings. On top, you can place creamy "roses" and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
