Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. The "Butterfly" cake is decorated with cream and licorice candies. You can leave the butterfly white and create the wing patterns using candies, especially since there is a huge variety of candies available nowadays. Use your imagination!

Step 1
1. To prepare the sponge cake, beat egg yolks and egg whites separately with sugar (divide the sugar and add it separately to the whites and yolks). Mix both mixtures, then add sifted flour and baking powder. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 30 minutes at 180°C. It is advisable to bake two identical sponge cakes. Let the baked sponge cakes cool completely.

2. While the biscuit is baking, prepare the cream. Melt the butter in a saucepan, but do not overheat it. As soon as the butter has melted, gradually pour in the condensed milk while stirring continuously. Whisk with a whisk, then add lemon juice and lemon zest. Whisk again. Cut a butterfly shape out of paper, making sure it fits within the dimensions of the biscuit. Use the paper template to cut a butterfly shape out of the biscuit.

3. Spread your favorite jam on the top of one butterfly, then place the second butterfly on top.

4. Spread the cake with cream.

5. For convenience, use thin licorice candies (noodles) to outline the wing pattern of the butterfly. Alternatively, you can simply "draw" the outlines with a knife.

6. Divide the remaining cream into 3 parts, and split one of them into 2 smaller parts. Set aside the small portion of white cream. Tint the other small portion and the two remaining portions with food coloring in your favorite colors. Decorate the "Butterfly" cake using a pastry bag with a star tip. Chill before serving. Enjoy your meal!
