Cake
Description
Perfect for serving with tea and coffee. The "Shark" cake can be made at home with any type of cake layers and cream. This version uses two kinds of sponge cake and whipped cream. Fresh or canned berries can be added between the layers if desired. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. First, bake 2 sponge cake or yogurt cake layers. Once they have cooled completely, cut them in half.
- 2
Step 2

2. Cut out cake layers in the desired shape. However, they should not all be the same size (one larger, the rest smaller) to achieve the proper cake shape.
- 3
Step 3

3. The recipe for the "Shark" cake allows room for creativity, as you can use your favorite cream for filling the layers.
- 4
Step 4

4. Now you can spread the cake layers with cream (and, if desired, also soak them with syrup) and assemble the cake.
- 5
Step 5

5. All the scraps will come in handy. The only thing is that they need to be crushed into fine crumbs.
- 6
Step 6

6. Mix the crushed cake crumbs with the remaining cream and use this mixture to shape the cake and give it the desired rounded forms.
- 7
Step 7

7. Using the crumbs, also make indentations for the eyes and mouth. Place the cake in the refrigerator in this form for 1-1.5 hours.
- 8
Step 8

8. Meanwhile, prepare the fondant and roll it out thinly. Cover the fish with it and smooth out all the wrinkles. Trim off any excess.
- 9
Step 9

9. Fins should also be cut out from the fondant and immediately placed onto toothpicks.
- 10
Step 10

10. Using a glass (or other available tools), press down the gills. Dilute the food coloring and begin applying it to the fish. The "Shark" cake can be colored at home using a brush or sponge.
- 11
Step 11

11. It's better to use a dye in two or three shades to make the color more interesting.
- 12
Step 12

12. Finally, draw the eyes, mouth, and teeth. If desired, use the leftover fondant to shape the sea and place it around the shark. Simply attach the fins and leave the cake to dry.
