Cake
Description
Making the "Aida" cake at home is very easy: prepare a classic sponge cake, cut it into pieces and pile them up. Top with cream and drizzle with chocolate glaze. I highly recommend this cake to everyone who enjoys classic desserts with fruits and nuts. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Step 1

1. The first step is to make the sponge cake batter: beat the egg whites with sugar separately, and the yolks separately. Sift the cocoa powder and add it to the batter, mixing gently. Then gradually add flour and baking soda, neutralized not with vinegar but with lemon juice. Bake the cake layers at 170 degrees until done. Meanwhile, prepare the sour cream frosting: beat sour cream with sugar and vanilla.

Step 2

2. Don't forget to add pineapple pieces into the dough before baking. While the layers are cooling, chop the nuts. Assemble the cake, spreading each layer and the sides with cream, and sprinkling nuts between the layers. The top should be decorated with biscuit pieces.

Step 3

3. You can also layer it this way: first the cake layer, then pieces of pineapple with cream, nuts, and so on until the top. After assembling, you can pour the remaining cream over the cake and drizzle with melted chocolate. Decorate as desired.

Step 4

4. This is the kind of cake we end up with—delicious, satisfying, and incredibly beautiful! It needs to soak for about 6–8 hours, so it's best to leave it in the refrigerator overnight.
