
Tomato soup with meatballs
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Meatballs are a Dutch tradition. Although the meatballs are prepared separately from the tomato-lentil base, together they create a wonderful flavor combination! Once you've tried it, you'll want to make this dish again! So read carefully. Serve hot.

Step 1. Place the water with lentils over heat and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer the lentils for another 20 minutes. In a bowl, combine the meat, breadcrumbs, garlic, half an onion, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly with your hands until all ingredients are well blended.

Step 2. Then form small balls from the resulting minced mixture.

Step 3. Prepare a frying pan with several tablespoons of oil, place the meatballs into it. Carefully turn the meatballs so they retain their round shape.

Step 4. Place the cooked meatballs on a plate and set the frying pan aside from the heat.

Step 5. Take the second half of the onion, chop it into small cubes, and do the same with the green onion. Add the onions to the skillet where you fried the meatballs.

Step 6. Add canned tomatoes (you can also use fresh ones) to the prepared onions and cook until the tomatoes become soft.

Step 7. Pour the resulting tomato mixture into the prepared lentils, mix well, and let simmer together for another 10 minutes.

Step 8. Blend the soup with a blender until it reaches a creamy consistency. Then add the meatballs and simmer for another 10 minutes.
