Tomato juice
Description
Tomato juice improves digestion and normalizes metabolism, but it is not recommended to drink it on an empty stomach due to the presence of nicotinic acid in tomatoes. It is best to enjoy the drink chilled, as a snack or one hour after a meal. The beverage is ready to serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the tomatoes and place them in a deep bowl. Boil water in a kettle and pour the boiling water over the tomatoes. Let them sit for 10 minutes, turning occasionally for even blanching. After that, remove the vegetables from the hot water and place them into ice water.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the vegetables and cut the tomatoes crosswise from the bottom with a knife. Chop the flesh into a deep container or directly into the blender jar if you are using a jug blender.
- 4
Step 4

Add salt and granulated sugar, then blend everything using an immersion blender or in a pitcher blender for 2-3 minutes on pulse mode until even the smallest tomato pieces are pureed.
- 5
Step 5

Pour the prepared tomato juice into tall glasses and equip them with wide straws. Sprinkle with ground black pepper and, if desired, garnish with washed fresh basil leaves—either green or red variety. Serve immediately.
