Tiramisu made with ready-made sponge cake layers
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Tiramisu has become such a popular dessert here that it has acquired numerous new, original recipes. Moreover, many of them are much cheaper than the classic version. For example, to make tiramisu using ready-made sponge cake layers, you can replace the expensive "savoiardi" cookies with ordinary sponge cake. The same goes for mascarpone: a creamy cheese will also work. Serve chilled.

I had only one ready-made biscuit cake, but it was thick. So I cut it in half and, essentially, made my own "savoiardi".

Now let's prepare the cream: separate the egg whites from the yolks. The egg whites should be cold; keep them in the refrigerator until ready to whip. Mix the yolks with sugar and beat (I add a couple of teaspoons).

Beat the egg whites with sugar and a pinch of salt into a foam.

Mash the mascarpone with a fork, then add the whipped egg yolks. Gradually add the egg whites. Beat at a low speed.

The cream should turn out smooth and thick.

Start assembling the tiramisu: spread the bottom of the mold with cream. Dip the split biscuit into the coffee and liqueur mixture. Then place it on top of the cream.

Spread the remaining cream on top. You can repeat this process as long as you have enough sponge cake and cream. However, two layers are more than sufficient. The final layer should be cream.

On top, you can sprinkle the tiramisu with cocoa powder or grated chocolate.

I recommend letting the tiramisu soak in the refrigerator for an hour. The dessert will become much tastier!
