Tortilla Dough
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to make. The tortilla dough comes together in just a few minutes, but don't forget to let it "rest" for about 20 minutes so it won't tear when rolling. Try not to roll the pieces too wide — use your skillet's width as a guide. Remember that you need three times as much corn flour as wheat flour. It can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the specified ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Into a deep container, pour in fine corn flour and wheat flour, and salt. Add vegetable oil — olive or odorless sunflower oil works best.
- 3
Step 3

Pour in the water and knead the dough. You may need a little less or a little more flour. Either way, set aside some wheat flour for rolling the dough balls.
- 4
Step 4

Form the dough into a ball, knead it thoroughly, and let it rest for 20 minutes, covered with plastic wrap or a towel so the dough does not dry out.
- 5
Step 5

After the specified time, divide the dough into equal portions and roll out each one.
- 6
Step 6

Bake the tortillas on a dry skillet for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown spots appear, spritz with water, and place on a plate, covered with a towel.
- 7
Step 7

Now you know how to make tortilla dough and fry the flatbreads yourself.
