
Sourdough pie dough
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. Homemade sourdough starter is a completely natural product. With its help, you can easily prepare the perfect dough for baking pies—dough that rises quickly and stays fresh for a long time. Simply mix the starter with eggs and sour cream, then add flour and all other ingredients, kneading thoroughly. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

1. Prepare the starter for the dough: place 10 raisins at the bottom of a jar, pour water over them, and let it sit for 3 days.

2. Using gauze, filter the raisin water, add 150 g of flour to it, and place in a warm spot to rise.

3. After about two days, the starter should begin to ferment, which can be determined by the appearance of characteristic bubbles on its surface.

4. The starter is ready when it has increased in volume and is completely covered with bubbles. It is recommended to store it at room temperature, feeding it regularly every 2 days.

5. Proceed to preparing the pie dough: add 2 eggs and 250 ml of 15% sour cream to the ready starter, and mix thoroughly.

6. Add 100 grams of cane sugar and mix again.

7. Add 1 tsp of baking soda and 2 g of vanilla, mix again.

8. Now add 50 ml of vegetable oil, mix well.

Sift 650 grams of flour, gradually adding it to the prepared mixture, mixing first with a mixer, and once the dough becomes too stiff, transfer it onto a work surface, add all the remaining flour, and continue kneading by hand for at least 20 more minutes. Now you know how to make sourdough pie dough. It's not difficult at all. This dough is excellent for various baked goods, including pies, rolls, buns, and more.
