Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. Here is a classic cookie dough recipe that will give you excellent dough, from which you can easily make good shortbread cookies. The recipe comes from a French book on confectionery, so you can be sure—it is truly good and time-tested. Serve with tea or coffee.

In a small saucepan, mix the butter, sugar, water, and salt.

Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.

Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.

When the butter mixture has cooled to room temperature, add it to the flour.

Mix the dough with a spoon until smooth. The cookie dough should be fairly thick in consistency.
