
Meatballs with sauce
Description
This is an almost classic recipe for meatballs with sauce, which can be served with absolutely any side dish of your choice. The cheese adds a special piquancy to this dish, making the minced meat even more tender and juicy.

1. Place slices of white bread (or croutons) into a small bowl and pour milk over them. Let them sit for a while until they soften.

2. Grate the cheese finely. Add to the meat mixture the bread squeezed free of milk, spices to taste, and herbs. Peel an onion and a couple of garlic cloves. Pass them through a meat grinder together with the meat. For these meatballs, you can use pork or beef, as well as chicken or turkey.

3. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly. If the mixture turns out too dry, you can add a little milk.

4. Meanwhile, heat a small amount of olive oil in a saucepan and add chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté gently until softened.

5. Form small meatballs. To make it easier to work with the meat mixture, slightly wet your hands with water.

6. Heat oil in a skillet and brown the meatballs over medium heat until a golden crust forms.
