Plum-stuffed meatballs
Description
I think many of you know at least 2-3 ways to make delicious meatballs, but have you ever tried cooking them with prunes? If not, I'd be happy to tell you about it.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, thoroughly rinse the rice and pour water over it. Place on the stove and cook until half-done in salted water.
- 2
Step 2

You can buy ready-made minced meat from the store, but personally, I prefer to make it myself. So, cut the meat and onion into large pieces and pass them through a meat grinder.
- 3
Step 3

Break a chicken egg into the bowl with the minced meat, add salt and pepper, then mix.
- 4
Step 4

Now add the cooked rice and thoroughly mix all the ingredients until uniform. Shape small meatballs from the prepared filling and coat them evenly with flour on all sides.
- 5
Step 5

We cut the second onion into small cubes.
- 6
Step 6

Rinse the prunes thoroughly under cold water and cut them into small strips.
- 7
Step 7

In a skillet, heat vegetable oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent, then add the meatballs and fry them on all sides until golden brown.
- 8
Step 8

Now, in a separate container, mix the tomato purée with water or broth, add vinegar and sugar, and season with salt and pepper.

Step 9

Place the fried meatballs together with the onion into a pot and pour in the prepared sauce. Add bay leaf and prunes, then cover with a lid. Simmer over low heat for 25–30 minutes. Serve the cooked meatballs with any side dish.
