
Meatballs
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The classic meatball recipe here is enhanced with one very interesting ingredient—red wine in the sauce. The dish turns out incredibly tender and juicy, so it's definitely worth trying. Serve hot.

1. Break the slices of bread into pieces and pour milk over them. Leave them aside for now. If milk is not available, you can use water.

2. Pour olive oil into a frying pan and heat it. Peel the onion, dice it finely, add to the pan, and fry until golden brown.

3. Place the meat passed through a meat grinder, fried onion, and bread squeezed dry of milk into a deep bowl. Add eggs and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly. You can also add a little dried herbs or seasoning to taste to the meatball recipe.

4. Shape the resulting mixture into small balls.

5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and sear the meatballs on both sides over high heat.

6. In a saucepan or a skillet with high sides, heat a little vegetable oil and sauté the minced garlic for a couple of minutes. Add tomato sauce and red wine. Finely chop fresh herbs and add them to the sauce. If desired, you can also add fresh tomatoes, diced into small cubes. Simmer the sauce for a few minutes over medium heat.

7. Now transfer the fried meatballs into the sauce and simmer until cooked through. After 15-20 minutes, juicy and delicious homemade meatballs will be ready to serve.
