Cod meatballs
Description
This recipe won't take much time. If you're tired of regular meatballs, but don't feel like making standard fish dishes either, this recipe is perfect for you. To prepare cod meatballs, use fresh fish. I chose not to add rice to the mince, as it's more suitable for meatballs made from meat. Cod meatballs can be prepared with or without sauce; I usually let them simmer in their own juices. Here's how to make cod meatballs: 1. Clean the fish, remove the innards, and rinse thoroughly. Make sure to remove all bones and separate the flesh from the skin. Pass the fish through a meat grinder. 2. Soak the bread roll in milk. Meanwhile, finely chop the onion. 3. Add the soaked bread, onion, and spices to the fish mince. Pass everything together through the meat grinder once more. 4. Shape into small meatballs. Heat fat in a frying pan and brown the meatballs on both sides. 5. Transfer them to a shallow pot and pour in a cup of broth. Simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes. 6. Brown the flour by frying it slightly, adding a little broth, then season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and pour into the pot with the meatballs. 7. Add sour cream and chopped dill to the meatballs, give it a good stir, and cook until fully heated through. Ready! Serve cod meatballs with tomato sauce or simply sprinkled with fresh herbs. Serve hot.
