Pork meatballs
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Make meatballs using ground meat and rice cooked until half-done. Add spices. Sear the meatballs in oil on all sides, about 2 minutes per side. Then transfer them to a casserole dish. Simmer the meatballs in tomato-carrot sauce either in the oven or on the stovetop. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Take pork mince or prepare it at home yourself.
- 2
Step 2

Grind the onion through a meat grinder or chop it in a food processor. Add to the minced meat.
- 3
Step 3

Boil the rice in salted water until half-cooked. Drain the water. Rinse the rice and add it to the meat mixture.
- 4
Step 4

Mix everything until smooth. Add spices of your choice, salt, and pepper. Knead again.
- 5
Step 5

We'll get this kind of minced meat. It will be easier to shape if you put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Form the mixture into small balls. Fry them in vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown; the inside of the meatballs will remain raw at this stage.
- 7
Step 7

Transfer the meatballs to a heatproof dish.
- 8
Step 8

Sauté the grated carrot on a frying pan.
- 9
Step 9

Pour in the tomato sauce and bring to a boil. Add salt and spices (you can add a little sugar if the tomato sauce is too sour). Pour the resulting sauce over the meatballs.
- 10
Step 10

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake the meatballs in the oven for about 30 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Take them out of the oven. Add sour cream to the sauce and return to the oven for another 10 minutes. I don't add sour cream to the sauce right away, because during baking the sour cream tends to curdle. I'm not particularly fond of this effect, so I add the sour cream at the very end.
- 12
Step 12

Serve with a vegetable salad or a side dish.
