Meatballs from minced meat
Description
There is a wide variety of recipes for making meatballs. I always prepare them with my favorite sauce made from tomato paste and sour cream. The meatballs turn out incredibly tender, juicy, and delicious! Mashed potatoes or spaghetti make the perfect side dish, but feel free to choose according to your taste. Use short-grain rice for the meat mixture—it cooks perfectly and blends well during preparation. This is an ideal dish for a weekday lunch or dinner. Both children and adults will love these homemade meatballs, and they are very easy to prepare.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients from the list. Cooking time can be reduced if you cook the rice in advance.
- 2
Step 2

If you haven't done this yet, you should start by preparing the rice. Boil the rice in salted boiling water until almost cooked; refer to the cooking time indicated on the rice packaging.
- 3
Step 3

Place the minced meat in a bowl.
- 4
Step 4

Add finely chopped or coarsely grated onion, egg, cooked rice, salt, and spices to taste.
- 5
Step 5

Mix everything thoroughly.
- 6
Step 6

Form meatballs from the resulting mince. I made large meatballs, yielding 8 pieces. If you make them slightly larger than a walnut, you'll get 12-14 pieces.
- 7
Step 7

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Sear the meatballs over high heat on both sides until golden brown crust forms. I don't coat the meatballs in flour beforehand, but if they don't hold their shape well, you can coat them in flour or breadcrumbs.
- 8
Step 8

Separately mix sour cream, tomato paste, and flour. Add a pinch of sugar and salt to taste.
- 9
Step 9

Mix until homogeneous and gradually add water in a thin stream.
- 10
Step 10

Transfer the fried meatballs to a small saucepan or a suitable-sized skillet.
- 11
Step 11

Pour the sauce over them and simmer in the gravy over low heat for 15 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

The meatballs from minced meat are ready.
- 13
Step 13

Garnish the finished dish with fresh herbs and serve.
