Meatballs without rice in a multicooker

Description

Making meatballs without rice in a multicooker is very easy! To help them keep their shape, there's one little secret. Without rice, they resemble small dumplings. It's very important to knead the minced meat thoroughly and carefully—this way, the meatballs will turn out not only delicious but also very attractive. Let the prepared mince rest for 20 minutes, then brown the meatballs and simmer them in tomato sauce using the "Stewing" mode (this will take about 50 minutes).

Instructions

    2. Mix the minced meat with semolina and bring to a uniform consistency.

    3. Add the egg, salt, spices, finely chopped onion (can be grated), garlic pressed through a press, and one teaspoon of flour. Mix again until smooth.

    4. Place the meat mixture on a flat surface and let it sit for 20 minutes to allow the semolina to swell. This recipe yields 14–16 meatballs.

    5. To prepare the sauce, we need spices (mix them in a mortar to ensure they are evenly distributed in the sauce), tomato paste, and a pinch of flour. Mix the pinch of flour with a small amount of warm water (3-4 tablespoons) until there are no lumps, then add this mixture to the tomato paste with spices. Stir the sauce thoroughly.

    7. If you wish, you can skip frying the meatballs, but then they won't be as tasty. Pour a little vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl and place the meatballs inside. Select the "Baking" or "Frying" mode and sear the meatballs slightly on all sides with the lid closed. Then pour in the sauce (you can add onion and carrot if desired) and select the "Stewing" mode for 50 minutes. Close the lid, press start, and go about your business.

    8. We didn't add rice to the meat mixture, but I had some leftover rice in the fridge (from stuffed peppers) and decided to serve it as a side dish. Rice pairs best with meatballs. Mashed potatoes would also be a good option.
