
Herring Tartare
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. A colorful individual dish for a buffet or festive table—herring tartare. You can add avocado, finely chopped spinach, or replace the yellow onion with red or green onion. The main thing is that the appetizer should be served chilled. It can be served warm or chilled.

Prepare the specified ingredients. You may use lightly salted herring fillet or preserves.

Peel the onion, rinse it in water, and dice it into small cubes. Put it in a bowl, pour vinegar over it, and let it sit for 5 minutes so the onion marinates and loses its bitterness. Dice the lightly salted herring fillet into small cubes and add it to a deep bowl. Add the marinated onion as well, shaking off any excess liquid.

Wash the avocado in water, cut it in half, and remove the pit. Peel the skin and dice the flesh into cubes. Rinse the dill and place both preparations in a container.

Season with salt and pepper and pour in the vegetable oil. Gently mix so the avocado flesh does not turn into puree. Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so the sliced ingredients absorb each other's flavors and aromas.

Place the tartare in a serving square or ring on a plate, pressing lightly so it holds its shape. Remove the serving square and garnish the tartare to taste. Serve chilled.
