
Tartlets with Shrimp and Cheese

1. The classic tartlet recipe with shrimp and cheese calls for soft cream cheese, but you can use any cheese you like—hard or soft. Shrimp can be fried or boiled.

2. Pour a little vegetable oil into a skillet and heat it. Add the shrimp to the skillet and sauté lightly. 3–4 minutes is enough; then remove the shrimp from the heat. Place them on a paper towel and let cool slightly. For extra aroma while frying, you can add a garlic clove to the oil.

3. Depending on the cheese, the appetizer filling can be blended in a blender or grated on a grater. Soft cheese can simply be mashed with a fork. In this case, Mozzarella is used. Put the cheese in the blender bowl and add a little sour cream or mayonnaise. Peel a clove of garlic and add it to the bowl. Blend until smooth and, if desired, season lightly with salt to taste. You can also add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.

4. Peel the cooled shrimp.

5. Wash the green onion tops, pat dry, and finely chop. If desired, homemade shrimp and cheese tartlets can also be garnished with other fresh herbs to taste. You can also add chopped dill to the cheese filling.

6. Fill the prepared tartlet with cheese cream. Top with 1–2 shrimp and sprinkle with green onion. That’s it—the appetizer can be served right away.
