Beef tartlets
Description
Perfect with tea and coffee. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Season the beef with salt and pepper. Heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and sear until browned, about 1 minute per side. Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 8 to 9 minutes. Transfer the beef to a plate and let it rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, on a lightly floured surface, cut two 14x14 cm squares from puff pastry. Using a knife, create a frame border around each square. Place them on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 190 degrees and continue baking until golden brown, about 10 minutes more. Meanwhile, melt butter with the remaining 2 teaspoons of butter in a clean skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, thyme, and garlic; cook until mushrooms are tender, about 8 minutes. Add wine and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half, approximately 1 minute. Transfer the mixture to a small bowl. Add the mousse to the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Stir until the mousse melts, then remove from heat. Slice the beef thinly. Place the meat onto the pastry shells. Top with the mushroom mixture and drizzle with the mousse. Serve immediately. The pastry is ready. Serve at the table.
